Connie Hom, CLP –Landscape Industry Certified Manager is CEO/President of Buckingham Greenery, Inc., a thirty five year company specializing in interior landscaping and special events. Connie was selected as Interior Business Magazine’s Professional of The Year and the Green Industry Hall of Fame Leadership Award. With corporate headquarters in Buckingham, Virginia, the company provides interior landscaping services throughout Central Virginia in Richmond, Hampton Roads/Beach Area, Charlottesville and Lynchburg/Roanoke – from the beach to the mountains. Buckingham Greenery, Inc.’s reputation is for the quality of product, high standards of professional horticultural services and creative designs. The award winning firm has won awards for design, service, holiday decorating, special events, flowers and business – VMSDC Virginia Entrepreneur of the Year, several years the “Lasting Impression Award” and the Richmond Chamber Employee Development Award to name just a few. Connie is a Landscape Industry Certified Manager. She is actively involved in the industry associations –National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) Board of Directors and Committee Chairs; in allied trade associations – International Facility Managers Association (IFMA) Richmond Chapter – Board of Directors, past President; the CEO Council of Virginia; Board of Directors for Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council (VMSDC) for several years; RAC Committee for Carolina/Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council (CVMSDC) and the 2012 National representative for Virginia with the National Minority Business Enterprise Input Committee and presently serves on the boards for Richmond Venture and Metropolitan Business League.
Connie continually educates the company’s team members and herself. She has attended the Executive Education programs at the University of Wisconsin, the Tuck School at Dartmouth, the Darden School at the University of Virginia, the Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond and CEO Leadership Series at the University of Richmond. She speaks locally and nationally on a variety of horticulture, holiday decorating and business topics. She participates in an international peer group Pinnacle V.
In her spare time, Connie is involved in many volunteer committees, including serving as long time member and past president of the Southside Virginia Family YMCA Board of Directors; Chair of several committees for the Y; a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church Altar Guild and Finance Council; active volunteer for the American Heart Association Go Red For Women Richmond Chapter and served in the Executive Leadership Team and co-chair of the Circle of Red. Involved in Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church in Highland Springs. Connie enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, watching professional football and professional ice hockey. She enjoys reading, opera, watching movies and what else – gardening.
